2 Months Down 9/18/2017

Whew this week was another blur. I read a lot out of the Book of Mormon, like 100 pages since Tuesday. And wow that book is incredible, and is honestly a lot of fun to read. As I read I can't help but think of the quote from (I think) Jeffrey R Holland, where he says something along the lines of "No wicked man could write this book, and no good man would, unless it was from God." The book is true folks. And if it is true, then everything else is. Just remember, the book is blue, the Church is true. Even when some days can be rough, and unsuccessful, the Church is still true. Even if we get doors slammed on us a lot.      So, this week was just dandy. We taught a pretty good number of lessons, and did quite a bit of tracting. We knocked a lot of doors on Grove Street, and picked up a couple investigators. We had an awesome conversation with a very nice man...(This is sarcasm) We knocked on his door and a dog started barking, so we waited. About a minu...

Holy Cow my first transfer is already over! 9/11/2017

Well there goes another week! Holy cow it's crazy how time flies. This week was another blur, but I remembered to write down all the cool stuff in my journal. However I forgot my journal at the apartment, so I'm just gonna have to see what I remember....      On Tuesday we set record time delivering Meals on Wheels. The usual flirty old lady was waiting at her door when we pulled up, and she did a little dance and said "oh boy am I ready for you", so I quickly handed the meal and fast walked away. If she's interested in hearing the lessons, I think we'll have the Sisters stop by... Later that night we visited Cheryl, she's a "progressing" investigator who's been meeting with missionaries for like 2 years. She's working on giving up smoking, but is going very slowly... However, we had a very good lesson, and at the end we invited her to pray about Baptism, and to set a date. We restarted the discussions, and are going over all...

Return & Report. 9/5/2017

Whew. This week was a long one.  Tuesday  we had District Meeting, then DD took us and the Malone Elders to dinner. Then we hurried to Potsdam to meet up with Elders Jarman and Bellon. The 6 of us were blessed enough to be able to use the ZL's truck, to drive 4 hours into Utica for Return & Report (the meeting all the trainers and trainees go to.) First of all, I would HIGHLY recommend the use of a small pickup to transport large numbers of people. Second, if you ever have the opportunity to sit in the front middle seat, seize that opportunity. I was able to touch my forehead to my knees, and let my shins control the AC and volume for the full 4 hours. It was blissful, and the seat had incredible cushion as well, such a memorable drive. When we arrived at the mission home at  9:15 , we were lucky enough to not have to make the decision of which bed we wanted, as they were all already taken. Elder Davis, Jarman, and I slept on the living room floor. I think I got...

This week was about 23 seconds long, I counted. 8/28/2017

Holy cow the past 7 days have flown by. It was crazy. And SO much happened. It was both the fastest and the funnest week yet. And I imagine it will just keep getting better. Missions aren't easy, but they're fun, if you're doin it right. Here's a day by day summary of my week, hopefully I include all the insane things that happened, particularly the time we nearly died.      Tuesday: We went and visited Kukniwah. He's a Native man we met at the Methodist Dinner, where we wash dishes. He's very nice and loves the missionaries, but hasn't talked to them in a long time. I saw him sitting and sat down by him and we talked for a long time. He's hilarious, and invited us over to visit. We had a good chat/lesson at his house, and he's invited us back for dinner this week. From what I hear he's quite the cook, so that'll be good, especially because nobody in Massena feeds the missionaries. After Kukniwah we delivered Meals on Wheels. Our route is ...
