Final MTC Week 8/5/2017

Well, we played our last four square, had our last pizza night, went to our last Tuesday night devotional, went to the Provo temple for the last time, etc. Lots of lasts, but I'm so pumped for all the firsts that are coming in the next few days.
It feels like I got dropped off here just the other day, but I'm already coming up on 3 weeks, which is crazy. The other night I asked what the devotional was going to be that week, thinking it was Monday. Turns out it was Thursday night, we'd already had the devotional, and I had completely forgotten what day it was. The days just blend together here, time seriously flies.
Speaking of the devotional, we heard from Sister Jean Bingham, the Relief Society President. It was so cool. Afterwards we had a devotional review with our Branch President, President Samuelain. He is such a cool guy, and honestly that devotional review was the most memorable meeting I've been to since I got here. It was incredible. We all shared our testimonies, and the Branch President shared so many cool stories and words of advice. Every second that passes I get more excited to get off that plane in Syracuse.
I've learned so much while I've been here, and the Spirit has been so strong. However the food has been highly disappointing, the pillows are pretty bad, the blankets are from Alcatraz. Despite the "rough" living conditions, the learning environment is pretty much unbeatable.
There are a lot of amazing parts of the MTC, the most obvious being the amazing Spirit and teaching/learning experiences. But we can't forget that there are like 2500 18-19 year old kids here. Any time anyone drops a tray, or anything for that matter, the ENTIRE cafeteria applauds. Even the MTC President can't help but smile. There's also a huge district of Polynesian Elders, and my guess is they all played on the same Rugby team or something, they talk about it a lot, because when they walk by anywhere they're hootin and hollerin like it's game time. They're awesome. There's also an epidemic of people finding padlocks through their suit coat button holes, and shoes. The Hogwarts/Temple hybrid has added a scout camp/football team aspect to it and it's so funny. But every single person here can flip a switch, and have an awesome spiritual moment. And we all may be sick of singing Called to Serve, but it's pretty incredible to look around and see all the Missionaries singing
I've loved the MTC, but I'm ready to get out there, and hopefully hit the ground running. Thank you all for the love and support. I'll talk to you next week FROM NEW YORK. 😍
