TRANSFER WEEK 1/22/2018

First item of business is this week is transfers. I got called as District Leader, and Elder Hubbell from Binghamton (the city right next to Johnson City) will be joining me, as well as Elder Schindler, who I know nothing about. As a trio, we will be covering 2 areas. It's going to be stinkin awesome.
Second item is I accidentally lost our phone last night. That's the bad news. The good news is I found it this morning. I apparently forgot that I had let it fall out of my pocket in a puddle in the street... Soooo that was a neat discovery.
Third item, on Tuesday Elder Jarman, one of my favorite missionaries in the mission, and Elder Vorkink, the most famous Elder in the mission, who coincidentally are also our ZL's, blitzed our area. Elder Jarman and I went to the Church, and watched the broadcast from the Church. That was awesome, it's a rare thing, to see a new Prophet called while on your mission. President Nelson is an incredible man, and the way he and the First Presidency handled the questions in the press conference after was rather impressive. They didn't even flinch when people asked questions that seemed rather inappropriate considering the occasion. But they are champs. After watching the announcement, Elder Jarman and I went to Chipotle, thanks to Sister Marsey who sent me a gift card. After Chipotle we went around and shoveled driveways, picked up 2 investigators, and handed out 3 BoMs. The few hours spent with Elder Jarman felt more effective than the majority of this transfer... So I'm super pumped for this next transfer, because both Hubbell and Schindler have been out for 18+ months, and both are going to be fun and we're gonna work stinkin hard.
Fourth item of business is the fact that I have been gone for more than 6 months. That is a legitimately shocking fact. I feel like I was dropped off at the MTC like 12 minutes ago. Even with this transfer being easily the longest 6 weeks of my life, time is still flying. I'm over 25% through this 2 year adventure, and it's stinkin awesome.
Fifth item is how disappointing my wonderful idea turned out to be. At Zone Conference we were encouraged to meet with members and do FHE meetings. This is an awesome idea, and will be handy for the rather slow winter nights. In order to promote this, I made an awesome handout, with a QR code taking you to a google form where you entered your info, set an appointment, and I was automatically notified to confirm the appointment. I thought this was a genius idea, and thanks to Bro VanAusdall, we had a copy of this handout in every program. Surely this incredible, outside of the box, technologically advanced, friendly and approachable idea would attract much attention. Yeah. Right. I spend over an hour planning this all out, and even longer making it all official (while my companion watched anime, might I add) and stinking NOBODY USED IT. So if anyone wants to come out here and egg the members' houses or something, so they have to call the missionaries with a "service" opportunity, that'd be great. SMH.
Anyways, I literally don't know what else to share. We got a ton of snow last week, but it's all melting now bc it's summer apparently. We missed the WWE event that happened in Binghamton on Sunday, so that's a bummer. Having a comp who lacks the "physical ability" to do just about anything, you don't have that many experiences to share. So that's interesting. Y'all better be ready for some fun stories this next 6 weeks.
LOVE YOU ALL, THANKS FOR BEING AWESOME.
